LITHUANIAN SYMPHONIC WIND ORCHESTRA
The LITHUANIAN SYMPHONIC WIND ORCHESTRA {the LSPO) is a professional ensemble which performs music of different genres and styles. The orchestra collaborates with the most renowned national and international soloists, and has given concerts in Sweden, the Netherlands, Latvia, the USA, and other countries. In 2022, the LSPO was awarded the gold medal at the international competition WMC Kerkrade in the Netherlands. In recent years, the LSPO has commissioned and performed more than 15 new compositions by Lithuanian composers. This demonstrates both the orchestra's consistent commitment to promoting the music of Lithuanian composers and its ambition to develop a new repertoire for wind orchestras. The compositions on this CD feature music of different aesthetics and styles.
