Love Ghosts

They strike again, this time with a wonderfully lyrical album. All compositions by Amado, Almeida, Govaert, recorded by Joaquim Monte at Namouche Studios, Lisbon, in January 2020. The tradition pf John Coltane and David S. Ware lives, and lives in an amazing manner! Rodrigo is in an incredible disposition, and Gonçalo and Onno provide extraterrestrial support. This is the music you would like to hear always and all the time! The trio plays 4 middle length tracks. They start with "New Tone", which for me is a kind of free bop tune. "Encounter" is a ballad of innite beauty and emotional content. It is slow and lyrical, but has also a very expressive parts. 16 minutes long title trackis even more lyrical and ballad-like. For me it is notable for amazing work of the section, and Gonçalo in particular. The nal part is an volcanic free jazz explosion of everybody. Finally, "Outer Fields" with wonderful bass intro, and beautiful hymn like theme. Clearly, an outstanding album!!!
